Sample Itinerary

Day 1

Travel to Kibale National Park

Early morning after breakfast, drive off to western Uganda, stop-over at Nakayima tree, a cultural goddess worshiped by people from all over East Africa and beyond. As we go towards Fort Portal which is among the top 5 clean towns of Uganda, you will see the green tea-plantations and wind –ward effects of Rwenzori Mountains. Shall have lunch en-route and continue to Kibale National park, dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2

Chimpanzee Trekking

After an early morning breakfast, we’ll have a briefing from the rangers at the national park then proceed with rangers to the tropical rain forest depth searching for the chimpanzees, our close relatives who have decided to live in the forest. You will see Chimps play, feed and traits they share with humans which is exciting. The forest has different species of trees and high density of primates, expect to see a number of birds. After the lunch break, we shall either visit the local community to learn about bee keeping, natural honey processing and also taste honey in its natural combs or we shall go on a walk through Bigodi Wetland, a community project in support of the community around the national park. The wetland has over 150 bird species, primates and varieties of butterflies. We shall return to the lodge for overnight stay.

Day 3

Travel to Kampala

Have breakfast at leisure, and set off to Kampala. There’s a chance to visit a local tea processing plant to learn about tea growing, harvesting and processing or visit some of the crater lakes in the area on a guided nature walk.
